I dedicate the information herein to those family members who preceded me.
 

My research provided the reality as to how many family members died in the Shoah, none of whom I knew.  Now I know their names.

I grew up in South Africa of parents from Hoogeveen and Leeuwarden and except for recent years, knew not one of my immediate and distant family who were born in the Netherlands in the main, not even by name. I did not know my grandparents.  I now live in Chicago from May to October and in South Florida from November to April.

Each family tree is linked to their names above and each family is interrelated.  It is hoped that my work will help others who have the same connections or crossovers.

I owe an indebtedness to many who provided help and information and they have my gratitude. Many have inspired me. I honor them, acknowledge and recognize them and also those whose web material have names common to their and my trees.

A great deal of my work is the result of personal and original inquiry.  I know that all works, including the web, are prone to typographic errors, omissions related to names of individuals, places, events and dates.

Genealogy is never ending and I hope that others (whose trees coincide with mine) will help enlarge the trees and will continue the project.

While much of my work is in the public domain, relevant material may be used for personal purposes but no copyrighted work is to be used for commercial purposes, publication on the web or publication on semi-commercial genealogical web sites without written permission.  I take responsibility for errors, certain liberties of interpretation and “modification” of poorly documented “historical” fact and have used names with “tussenvoegsels” as a definitive part of the last name.
